BREAKING NEWS: Ramada Inn Robbery Suspect Confesses

Ramada Inn in Williams located at 374 Ruggeri Way, was one of two lodging facilities evolved in an armed robbery on February 20, 2012.

On February 20, 2012 at approximately 2:12 p.m., the Ramada Inn in Williams was a victim of an armed robbery. Approximately 45 minutes earlier, the Motel 6 in Dunnigan was also robbed by the same method. In both cases, the suspect was described as Hispanic male adult and escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash. Surveillance video was obtained from the Ramada Inn and Motel 6 of the suspect entering the premises but no evidence was located and there were no leads on a suspect.

On March 6, 2012, the Williams Police Department and the Yolo County Sheriffs Office received information from Dixon Police Department that the robbery suspect of Dunnigan and Williams lodges may be in custody in the Sacramento jail. On March 8, 2012, both Yolo County Sheriff and Williams Police Detectives arrived at the Sacramento main jail and interviewed the possible suspect Jose Luis De La Cruz of Sacramento, CA. De La Cruz was arrested by CHP and Dixon Police Department for car-jacking, robbery, and felony evading, ending in Sacramento. The car-jacking, robbery, and evading occurred in Dixon at approximately 7:00 p.m., the same day as the Dunnigan and Williams Robberies.

De La Cruz, confessed to both robberies of Motel 6 and Ramada Inn and remains in custody in Sacramento.
