Staff Report | September 20 10:05AM

At 12:30 pm on Monday, September 19th, the City of Colusa was dispatched to Davison Drugs & Stationery at 640 Market Street in Colusa in response to an armed robbery that had occurred.

The clerk told deputies that a woman approached the pharmacy counter claiming to be picking up a prescription. When the pharmacy clerk couldn’t find the prescription, the suspect walked behind the register counter and approached the pharmacy clerk. With the suspects hand in her purse, she implied she had a gun and threatened to use the gun unless specific prescription drugs were handed over. The clerk complied with the demand and handed over the prescription drugs to the suspect, who then fled out the back door heading in an unknown direction.

No shots were fired, and the clerk was not injured.

The suspect is described as a white female in her 40’s with tanned skin, about 5 foot 7 inches tall, medium build and collar length brownish-red hair. She was wearing sunglasses, a black t-shirt over a white t-shirt, blue denim Capri pants and tan sandals.

Officers searched the area surrounding the store but the suspect was not located. It is unknown at this time whether or not a vehicle was involved in the robbery.

This is the second robbery of a local pharmacy this year. On Monday, June 6th, an armed male subject entered Fouch & Son Pharmacy of Williams around 12:50 pm and passed a note demanding prescription drugs. An unknown amount of prescription drugs were taken. The suspect fled on foot and no injuries were reported.

The male subject involved in the Fouch & Son Pharmacy robbery was described as 5 foot 10 inches tall with brown hair, wearing a tan jacket and dark sweat pants. The suspect is still at large.

It is unclear at this time if the two robberies are connected.

Anyone with information about these crimes or the identity of the suspect(s) is urged to call the City of Colusa Police Department at 530.458.7777.
