CRMC to Host Health Fair

The first Family Health Fair sponsored by Colusa Regional Medical Center will be held Thursday, October 25, from 10:00 A.M. to 2 P.M. in the Main Exhibit Hall, Colusa County Fairgrounds. Admission is FREE to all ages. 

Vendor booths will be open to all health fair goers providing a full range of health screenings and health information. According to Mary Jane Tait, RN, CRMC Director of Staff Development and Employee Health, the screenings that will be available that day will include: “Colusa County Public Health Department offering seasonal flu shots free to all comers!. There will also be free health checks, ranging from blood sugars to foot health, blood pressure, gait and balance and risk of breast cancer detection.” 

Health screening and education participants in this year’s event include: Adult Protective Services, , American Cancer Society,; American Red Cross, BeautiControl; Podiatrist, Dr. Joel Berman; Representatives from CMRC’s Departments of Home Health, Dietitians office, Nursing , Radiology, Rehabilitation, Respiratory Therapy and Urgent Care; California Highway Patrol, Colusa City Fire Department; Colusa County Health Department; Colusa Hearing Aid;,Donate Life California, Enloe Ambulance; Reach Ambulance , Golden State Donor Services ,FOCCAS; Independent Living Services of Northern California; Lifeline; Cindy Romano; State Farm Insurance; Telephone Access Services, Tobacco Education; Touch of Health Therapeutic Body Works, The Californian from Woodland, Shield Health Care, Veteran’s Administration and First Five Colusa, Family Action Centers, The Center for Nutrition and Activity Promotion from Chico State University, Interim Home Style Services, Friday Night Live, Safe Haven, Children’s Services, North Valley Family Physicians Group, Apria Healthcare and others to be announced. 

There will be local agencies available to show what services are available within the reach of our families here in Colusa County ranging in scope from Pacific Flyway Quilters, Friends of the Library, Bookworm, Parks and Recreation, Colusa County Arts Council, Colusa County Chamber of Commerce and many others. 

A hot lunch of homemade soup and bread will be available onsite at a cost of $3.00 as a fund-raiser for Colusa Regional Medical Center Foundation. 

There will be child fingerprinting available throughout the day by the Sheriff’s Volunteers Services organization. Meet Potter the Otter on fresh and health clean water and other special guests!
