On December 14, 2012, 9 students competed for the  title of “2012 Spelling Bee Champion” at Maxwell Elementary. In the running were 3 students from the 4th, 5th & 6th grades. After a steady competition 2 spellers were left in the running: Jilliann Wilson (5th grade) & Kaylie Gwinnup (4th grade). Back & forth the girls spelled words at an 8th grade level. Jilliann Wilson was the final winner with her word “Succumb” Congratulations to her and good luck at the Scripts National Spelling Bee in Sacramento on January 12, 2013!
