Colusa County veterans of the United States military, along with their families and friends gathered with friends and family members in Veterans Memorial Park on Saturday, July 25, 2015 during the annual Veterans Picnic.

Over 300 people attended the event, hosted by the Maxwell American Legion Post 218 and the Colusa Veterans of Foreign Wars No. 2441.

Lunch featured Pulled Pork Sandwiches, prepared by Rocco’s Bar & Grill, coleslaw, beans, assorted chips and a beverage.

This is the first year the annual picnic was held at the newly named Veterans Memorial Park; dedicated after the Colusa County VFW and Maxwell American Legion constructed the Veterans Memorial Wall last fall.

In addition to great food and good company, several items were available for raffle, including two Traeger BBQ’s, guns, and other assorted tools and items.

“We would like to thank everyone for coming out and for the businesses who have donated raffle items for the event,” said Colusa VFW Post 2441 Commander, Bill Tanner.

The funds raised during the BBQ are used to help the veterans of Colusa County and to fill the individual needs of our veterans.
