The Colusa County Department of Behavioral Health needs you!! We are gearing up for Suicide Prevention week, which is September 7th through September 11th. The Department will be holding a mental health discussion for the community at the local Boy Scout Cabin (901 Parkhill Street Colusa) on Tuesday, September 8th at 6:30pm. Learn more about mental health and how it impacts our community.

Another way to get involved will be to attend one or all of our Mental Health Service Act (MHSA) Stakeholder meetings. What is MHSA you ask? MHSA or Prop 63 was passed in 2004 as a way to address the unmet mental health needs of communities. Come learn about the various MHSA programs such as the Native American Collaboration, 2nd step, and much more! We will also be looking for your feedback in regard to how you think the community should be served! There will be food at each meeting. Below are the dates and times for each upcoming meeting!

  • Meeting 1: Wednesday, September 16th, 2015 @ 6:00pm; Location: Arbuckle Elementary Library (701 Hall Street, Arbuckle)
  • Meeting 2: Monday, September 21st, 2015 @ 12:00pm; Location: Colusa County Department of Behavioral Health (162 E. Carson Street, Colusa Room: 102.)
  • Meeting 3: Friday, September 25th, 2015 @ 4:00pm; Location: Williams High School Gym (260 Eleven Street, Williams)
