In the upcoming weeks, the Intersection of Putnum Way and I-5 Undercrossing in northern Arbuckle, at Davies Chevron, is scheduled to have a four-way stop signed installed.

“Although the area hasn’t had any significant accidents, there is a traffic flow problem that needed to be addressed,” said Colusa County Public Works Director, Scott Lanphier.

The Colusa County Department of Public Works is in the process of hiring a contractor to perform the work which will include a thin “fog” seal of black emulsion, enhanced striping including double-yellow lines and stop-bars, as well as stop-signs on the north and south approaches.

“The project is expected to be constructed before October 2015,” said Lanphier.

Lanphier also commented that portable message boards will be placed on the north and south approaches of the inter-section to alert motorists in the area that the new stop sign will be installed soon.

The Colusa County Department of Public Works will monitor the intersection during and after the installation of the new four-way stop sign to ensure the striping and signing is performing as intended.  ■
