CRMC Celebrates Women’s Health Center Grand Opening

In December of 2014, the Colusa Regional Medical Center  Foundation announced plans to purchase a new digital mammography system in partnership with the hospitals new Women’s Health Center.

On Wednesday, September 30, 2015 the Colusa Regional Medical Center celebrated the opening and success of the Women’s Health Center.

“The women’s health center will provide our community with the specialized services they need, all under one roof, without having to leave the county;’ said Walt Beck, CEO of Colusa Regional Medical Center.

The CRMC Women’s Health Center will feature a new digital mammography imaging service, which will provide the highest level of diagnostic breast services for Colusa County.

“The Women’s Health Center is one of those investments that makes a difference for everyone in Colusa County,” said Beck.

In addition to digital mammography services, the Women’s Health Center will provide access to women’s health exams, obstetrics, gynecologic services, family planning, lab services, and more.

Beck added that the hospital will continue to add services to its Women’s health Center as they are needed.

Lorraine Chun, MD

“It is with great pleasure to announce the addition of Dr. Lorraine Chun, to the CRMC Women’s Health Clinic,” said Beck.

Born in Honolulu, Hawaii, Dr. Chun received her undergraduate education at UC Berkley in 1983 and received her graduate education at UCLA, Mater of Public Health in 1986. She received her medical education a UCLA, Geffen School of Medicine in 1996 where she completed her internship and residency at UC Irvine Medical Center in 2000. Dr. Chun is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology.

“It is exciting to play a part in starting the first full scope obstetrics and gynecology practice in Colusa County,” said Dr. Chun, “Our goal is to be able to offer the women of the community up­
to-date diagnosis and treatment locally.”
