The Colusa County Sherriff’s Office arrested a suspect Paul Moore, age 47 of Grimes on charges of murder. Moore is believed to be connected to the death of Roberto Ayala in July of 2011.

At approximately 8:00 A.M. today, the Colusa County Sheriff’s Office assisted by A.T.F. and the Butte County Sheriff’s Office searched the home of Paul Moore in Grimes on a search warrant. The warrant was issued on the purpose to search for evidence in the case of the Roberto Ayala homicide. Moore was present and cooperative during the search. During the search, evidence was located.

That evidence along with evidence already gleaned during the investigation resulted in the arrest of Moore.

Moore was booked at the Colusa County jail on charges of murder (187 P.C.).

“Colusa County Sheriff’s Office Investigators and A.T.F. investigators have put many hours into this investigation hoping to locate the suspect and bring the case to conclusion.” said Lt. Shane Maxey in a press release issued by the Colusa County Sheriffs Department, “Today we are one step closer to that goal. Our condolences continue to go out the Ayala family.”
