Colusa County Grown Program Seeks Local Involvement

If you are a Colusa County agriculture producer, processor or related business or entity now is the time to get involved in Colusa County Grown (CCG).  The Colusa County Resource Conservation District (CCRCD) is seeking stakeholders to participate in activities directed at enhancing and defining this fledgling campaign focused on promoting Colusa County agriculture.

CCRCD Executive Director Patti Turner said “If you see a value and potential in CCG please invest your time and energy in the process. The Colusa County Resource Conservation District (CCRCD) has taken the lead thus far but the district is only one part of the locally led process.

CCG Stakeholders need to come together now if CCG is to be sustainable after the CCRCD’s current grant ends in 2017”.

As a group, stakeholders need to determine how to utilized CCG in the best manner possible to promote Colusa County agriculture. Potential items for discussion and stakeholder consideration include CCG program objectives and goals, leadership/ governance, CCG logo use policy and CCG membership requirements.

The CCRCD is currently planning the next CCG Stakeholder event which will be a potluck dinner-meeting in January 2016. If you are interested in participating in CCG please contact Patti Turner-CCRCD Executive Director at 530-458-2931×101 or info@colusarcd.org to be placed on the CCG mailing list. More information will follow when the meeting date gets closer.
