June Okland (1930-2015)

Okland, JuneOur Loving mother, June Helen Okland , passed away Saturday, December 5, 2015at the age of 85. She was surrounded by her loving family. June was born in Britt, Iowa on June 2, 1930 to Raymond and Mary Perkins. She was the oldest of 13 children.

She is survived by her six daughters Kristine Nelsen (Leslie Bond), Sandra  Recor (Henry), Barbara Rosas (Eric), Renee Ross (Fred), Kim Norman (Robert) Laurie Waters  (Dave),  13 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and 6 great- great grandchildren.  Also survived by 2  brothers, 3 sisters, Nephew Kris Rehr and numerous other nieces and nephews.

June was very active on Facebook, keeping up to date with all of her friends and family. She loved to travel, especially to the coast. She also enjoyed going to craft shows,  camping and fishing with family and friends.  She also loved going to the races to watch her grandchildren.

June is preceded in death by her loving companion Emery Weddel, her parents and 8 siblings.

Services will be held at 5:30p.m. on Monday, December 14, 2015 at McNary-Moore Chapel in Colusa

An Interment Service will be held at a later date at Stonyford Cemetery.

In Lieu of flowers, Memorial Contribution may be made in June’s name to Relay For Life-Colusa (http://bit.ly/colusarelayforlife)
