In Spirit of Celebrating its eighth year serving the Colusa County, the Williams Pioneer Review has unveiled a unique app that combines the best of newspaper design with digital interactivity, making the most of tablet and smartphone technology.
The app is currently available to download on iPad and iPhone with plans to be available on Android and Kindle Fire in the future.
“I am excited to announce finally the Digital Newspaper app that has been in development the last few months,” said Lloyd Green Jr., owner of the Williams Pioneer Review.
The digital newspaper is updated weekly on Tuesday morning – page by page – the digital newspaper appears exactly the way it does in print.
“The great thing about the digital newspaper, our readers can obtain access to to their paper a day before it is scheduled to hit newsstands,” said Green, “Additionally we will be adding our entire collection to the app; all the way to issue number one.”
The digital newspaper app allows readers to swipe through pages and sections from start to finish in the same manner as the printed edition.
“Our website is a great place for readers to obtain news and relevant information; however, by adding the digital newspaper to the mix gives our readers a unique experience,” said Green.
The digital newspaper app also brings readers the opportunity of special editions, immediate release of significant news events, and offering more updates than before and allowing for push notifications regarding breaking news or reminders.
“We now can send critical updates to our readers about the important things in the county,” said Green, “It will be very beneficial.”
How much is the Williams Pioneer Review Digital Newspaper app? The app is FREE to download in the Apple App Store for iPhone and iPad, and digital subscriptions start at $2.99 per month or $29.99 per year; individual issues cost 99¢ without a subscription.
“If you are already a print subscriber, you can get your Digital Edition app subscription for FREE, you will have to contact us so we can send you a promo code,” said Green.
During the month of February, the Williams Pioneer Review is celebrating it’s eighth birthday, and with Valentine’s Day around the corner, a month-long “We ♥️ our Readers” campaign is in process.
“Everyone who downloads or already downloaded the Williams Pioneer App will receive access to the month of February at no cost – just a way to say ‘Thank You’,” said Green.
