Masons get help with assistance from Colusa City Fire Department

The recent storms took its toll on the Colusa Masonic Lodge’s flag pole and rope.

Finding another flag and rope was the easy part. Finding a volunteer to climb the pole and thread the new rope through the pulley seemed impossible.

“We don’t have a ladder that would reach, and we couldn’t find anyone that would shimmy up the pole,” said Colusa Masonic Lodge member John Zwald.

After discussing the problem with Chief Randy Dunn and Sr. Capt. Logan Conley, the problem was quickly turned into a solution.

Colusa City Fire Lieutenant Matt Ropers arrived on Sunday, January 31 and within minutes had the new flag rope installed and ready for use.
