Kathleen “Kay” F. Dawley passed away at her home in College City on January 31, 2016 at the age of 83. She was born to Lynwood and Phyllis West on January 8, 1933 in College City where she lived her entire life. Kay attended local schools and married the love of her life, William “Bill” Dawley on April 21, 1951.
Kay and Bill were owners/operators of Dawley’s Chevron Station and café in Arbuckle for approximately 50 years. They worked and lived for most of those years and she was well-known for her home-baked pies and hot dishes served at the café. Her favorite pastimes included baking, spending time with her family and friends and for the past few years her beloved dog, Ozzie.
Kay is survived by her brother, James West, Children: Ernest (Janet) Dawley of College City, Douglas (Gail) Dawley of Arbuckle, Deborah (George) Jimenez of Arbuckle, Dorinda Collins of College City and Valerie (Duane) Maddy of Centre City, VA. Also survived by her Grandchildren: Marty (Maurie) Hobbs of Garberville, Shelly (Steve) Langlois, Kate (Matt) Kellogg of Arbuckle, Alyssa Jimenez of College City, Jessica Jimenez of San Francisco, Krista Jimenez of Stockton; Suzie Dawley of Woodland, Billy (Michelle) Dawley of Arbuckle, Kimberly Castro of Woodland and 12 Great-Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lynwood and Phyllis West, sister, Lynda West, brother, Donald West, husband, William C. Dawley, Granddaughters Jolena and Johnna Collins.
There will be visitation at McNary-Moore Chapel on 107 5th Street in Colusa on Tuesday, February 9, 2016 from 5:00-8:00 pm. Funeral Service is scheduled for Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at 10:00am at the Arbuckle Community Church. Graveside service will following at the College City Cemetery.
