Local Artist Featured at Yuba-Sutter Arts Gallery

The paintings of Mary Ann Nation are being featured at the Yuba-Sutter Regional Arts Council Gallery during the month of February.

Located at 624 E Street in Marysville, the Yuba-Sutter Regional Arts Council Gallery is open Tuesday through Friday, from Noon to 4:00 PM.

“I find painting to be a very important part of my life,” said Nation, “many paintings have been done plein air in the Mendocino area and Sacramento Valley, others have been done with my photos or still life subjects.”

This is Nation’s second showing opportunity with the Yuba-Sutter Regional Arts Council, previously hosted a show in 2011.

“I also participated in their 2014 Member Showcase,” said Nation.

Nation commented that all of her paintings were done with a palette knife.

“Several years ago I switched to water mixable oils for my medium; it is less toxic and yet has all of the working qualities of traditional oils,” said Nation.
