Youth events scheduled in Colusa and Arbuckle

Young Life is a non denominational Christian outreach ministry to high school students (Young Life) and to junior high school students (WYLdlife). Young Life meets every two weeks for regular Club meetings and goes to a weekend camp in the winter and a week long camp in the summer. WYLdlife meets once monthly for Club and also has a winter and summer camp.

This is the first year that that the two groups will do a combination showcase of the Young Life ministry. The event is a thank you to the clubs’ donors, and is also a fundraiser.

The events will show what the kids are doing at Young Life and WYLdlife events and how the ministry has affected them. The presentations wills share videos of Club meetings and camps, hear from the kids as to why they like club, hear from adult leaders and committee members involved in the ministry and hear a testimony from one of the kids as to his/her relationship with Jesus.

There will be refreshments and opportunity to talk with kids and leaders, as well as a raffle including the chance to win a Kindle Fire. People will learn the many different ways they can support the ministry, by becoming involved in leadership or committee or in other ways, as well as financially.

Showcases are scheduled in both Arbuckle and Colusa, two locations with very active groups. The Arbuckle event will be at Arbuckle Community Church at 700 Hillgate Road on Saturday, Feb. 27 from 7 to 8 pm. The Colusa event will be the following Saturday, March 5, from 7-8 pm at the First Presbyterian Church at the corner of 4th and Jay Streets. Anyone with an interest in Young Life is welcome to attend either event. Refreshments are included.

The Williams Pioneer Review has a small staff of one, covering all of Colusa County; but we’re proud to have the assistance of a large army of community contributors to extend our range and reach. This is one of those stories. If you have a story you would like to share, please email them to: or give us a call.
