Assemblymember James Gallagher and Senator Jim Nielsen hosted a joint Community Coffee event at Market Street Grill on Friday, February 19, 2016.

It was a packed back room at the Colusa eatery, as community members came to listen to the elected officials and discuss their concerns.

Both members spoke about the progress of their office and opened the floor for discussion.

Topics discussed by community members included water rights, government helping government, career technical education, the Sites Reservoir Project, the SMUD Power Line Project, road improvements, as well as the upcoming Princeton bridge closure. The group also discussed briefly the State of Jefferson movement.

Members of the FFA and FBLA attended the event and presented James Gallagher with letters of appreciation.

Gallagher and Nielsen also swore in the new members of the Colusa County Chamber of Commerce.
