On Wednesday, March 2, 2016, Officer Roach from the Williams CHP office

and Williams Police Chief John Osbourn and members of the Williams Police Department had the opportunity to celebrate the birthday of Dr. Seuss by taking part in Read Across America Day at Williams Elementary School.

“Dr. Seuss encouraged kids to learn to read – and read to learn.” said Officer Roach. Roach read Dr. Seuss’ “How the Grinch Stole Christmas!” to the Kindergarten and third grade classes.

Staff members of the Williams Police Department read one of their favorite Dr. Seuss books while promoting the importance of education and literacy.

“I would like to thank the staff and students at Williams Elementary for the opportunity,” said Roach.

Read Across America Day was a wonderful opportunity for public safety staff to interact with the children in their classrooms and embrace their partnership with the community.
