Dozens came out to support the Boy Scout Troop 5 at their fifth annual pancake breakfast on Saturday, March 12, 2016.

Inclement weather was no match for those looking to have a delicious pancake breakfast served up by the scouts who were busy cooking pancake and sausage at the Colusa Scout Cabin.

“The scouts are cooking in the kitchen, and the cub scouts are helping serve,” said Troop 5 Scoutmaster, Amy Gerrard, “Everything is going well.”

In addition, to the hearty breakfast, the troops served up fresh fruit, hot coffee and juice.

“This is our one and only fundraiser for the scouts to go to summer camp,” said Gerrard.

With the troop expecting to send 13 cub scouts, and five scouts to camp, the event will help cover some of the costs for the camp.

The troop also co-hosted the pancake breakfast with their annual e-waste event which collected a truck load of electronic recyclables such as T.V.’s, computers, monitors, and other various electronics.

“We made about $2,500 last year,” said Gerrard, “we hope to get about the same.”
