Colusa High School Senior, Payton Huskey, raised $5,960 for the Colusa Area Little League with her senior project co-hosting the Ford Motor Company’s, ‘Drive 4UR Community’ on Wednesday, March 16, 2016.

“We appreciate everyone coming out to not only support Payton but the Colusa Area Little League,” said Katelyn Davies, a representative from Hoblit Motors and Peyton’s Senior Project Mentor.

298 qualified community members test drove one of several Ford vehicles available out at Colusa High School during the event. By just test driving a Ford Vehicle, a donation of $20 was made on behalf of the Ford Motor Company towards the community cause.

“Drive 4UR Community is a Ford based program for the dealers and their community. Since I began working at Hoblit’s I have put a few of these events together, so I was able to guide Payton in the right direction,” said Davies.

Davies commented that the original date was changed at the last moment due to inclement weather; however, the efforts of Payton helped make the event successful.

“”Peyton did a great job getting out there and making people aware,” said Davies, “She was responsible for communicating with the little league, and creating promotional items.”

“Overall, we were able to get 298 test drives out of a possible 300; I would say it was a successful event,” Davies added.
