Twilight Years of Life

The Colusa Presbyterian Church is hosting a series of 3 workshops to help all interested persons with issues of aging and moving into the “twilight years” of one’s life.  The third workshop (on Thursday, March 31, from 1-4 p.m. in the church’s Fellowship Hall) will focus on: “Face Death & the Loss of a Loved One.”

Joe Garofalo, our Sheriff Coroner, will tell us what happens when the coroner arrives to handle the death of a loved one.

Bethany Rasmussen, of McNary-Moore Funeral Service, will share with us about funeral planning (as well as discussing the options of cremation or burial).

Debra Tripp, of Solace Counseling, will give us some understanding of what grief entails.  We are also hoping to put together a panel of folks who have gone through the loss of a loved one who might share one thing that helped them in their time of grief.  Pastor Tom Tripp will close with some brief words of comfort and hope.

Following each presentation there will be opportunity to ask questions, and others will be present to let you know what kinds of services are available to seniors (or to those who care for seniors).

These workshops are open to all persons at no cost, with refreshments provided by Thrivent Financial for Lutherans.  The church is located at the corner of 4th & Jay Streets in Colusa.  For more information, call 458-2802.
