Colusa County Expands Entertainment with New Stage Areas

There are two new stages being added to the Colusa County Fairgrounds this year.

The Etchepare Garden Stage will feature daily performances by Razzvio, a violin and electronic drum duo that reinvent familiar pop and rock arrangements from an entirely different angle.

Through live looping, they feature powerhouse vocals with a modern beat and a unique violin designed to build songs with the sophistication of a string quartet.  The Etchepare Garden Stage will also feature local talent including Stardust Dance.

The new Kid’s World Stage will have ongoing entertainment with Freddie Prez, an interactive stage with audience participation as well as Flo the Clown hosting eating contests, pig races, and kids tractor pulls.

“It’s going to be a constant activity area for families,” said Fair CEO Jonathan Howard.

The Main Stage is moving to the northwest area outside of Main Exhibit Building and is now called the Sun Valley Rice Main Stage.

“We are very appreciative of Sun Valley Rice’s willingness to sponsor the stage,” said Howard, we are also getting more and more participation and sponsorships at the fair, but it’s an ongoing process.”

Howard also commented that things are coming along with this year’s fair and contributes the success fo the county fair to the support and sponsorship in the county.

“We are very lucky in Colusa County to have so many dedicated volunteers and sponsors,” he added.

Anyone wishing to become a Colusa County Fair sponsor is invited to call the fair office at (530) 458-2641.

“There are a lot of opportunities to support the fair and it is a great way to show community spirit as well as promote local groups or businesses,” said Howard.
