6 important election dates

Colusa County residents will head to the polls in less than a month and many voters will do so before then.

In fact, absentee or vote-by-mail ballots begin this week.

“Voters will start receiving their County Sample Ballot Book/Voter Pamplet this week as well as their Vote-by-mail ballots,” said Colusa County Clerk Recorder Rose Gallo-Vasquez.

Gallo-Vasquez provided six important dates to remember if you want to participate in the voting process.

Gallo-Vasquez commented voters can contact the Elections Office to confirm their voter registration: 1-877-458-0501.

Oct. 10 – Vote-by-mail ballots sent out

Oct. 11 – First day to request a vote-by-mail ballot

Oct. 24 – Last day to register to vote by mail for the General Election

Nov. 1 – Last day to request a vote-by-mail ballot

Nov. 7 – Drive up and Drop Off your ballot with an election staff member between the hours of 8:30 AM and 4:00 PM at the Colusa County Clerk’s Office, 546 Jay Street, in Colusa.

Nov. 8 – Election Day – Polls open at 7:00 AM and close at 8:00 PM. Drive up and Drop off also available during this time.
