A Roseville man was arrested last Wednesday night after 27 lbs. of marijuana and $30K cash was allegedly found in his vehicle during a DUI stop on Highway 20 and Husted Road, a Williams police sergeant said.

A Williams Police Officer, Jennifer Patterson saw a gray BMW traveling at a high rate of speed, said Sgt. Steve Woldanski.

When the officer stopped the car and contacted the driver, Jonathan W. Hathaway, 20, of Roseville, California, she noticed the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.

“Officer Patterson found Hathaway to be driving on a suspended license and showed signs of being under the influence and determined he was,” said Sgt. Woldanski. “Hathaway was arrested without incident.”

Sgt. Woldanski added that Officer Patterson and her K9 partner, Jaaco, conducted a search of Hathaway’s BMW and subsequently located approximately 27 pounds of marijuana and $30,000 in cash.

Officers from the Williams Police Department, California Highway Patrol, and the Colusa County Narcotics Enforcement Team assisted with the traffic stop and investigation, said Woldanski.

Hathaway was booked into the Colusa County jail for the possession of marijuana for sale, the transportation of marijuana, and driving under the influence of drugs. His bail was set at $102,000.
