The California Resources Corporation (CRC) presented the Colusa VFW Post 2441 with a check in the amount of $4,200 to continue the expansion and construction of the Veterans Wall at Memorial Park in Colusa.
“We were approached by the company asking if we needed anything in the Veterans Organization,” said Colusa VFW Member, Dennis Sanders.
Sanders commented that the wall came to mind, and CRC employee and Maxwell American Legion Member Ben Pearson took the lead.
“It was generous of the company to do a whole wall; it was more than I was expecting,” said Sanders.
Sanders added it was unexpected that the company decided to sponsor the construction of one wall.
“This shows the caliber of people and companies we have in the county,” he said. “Every time the veterans have asked for something, or needed something, people have stepped up.”
“The support has been generous with the wall project,” he said.
According to CRC’s website, the company proudly supports military and veterans organizations for their service to the community, and as valued member of the workforce. The company also employs many veterans, some of whom were present during the presentation to the Colusa VFW. CRC has facilities in Willows, Grimes, and Yuba City.
