Free tow home this New Year’s Eve

Plan on ringing in the new year with some drinks and need a ride home? AAA has you covered.Several AAA clubs are offering safe ride services on New Year’s Eve for both members and nonmembers.

“Even if you’re going to have just a few drinks, tipsy is drunk driving,” said Lisa Selover of Selovers Inc. who is one of the local AAA towing companies to participate in the program. Sankey Auto Towing Services is also participating.”The program is free and we will take the person and their car home, up to 10 miles,” said Selover. She added that further distances are allowed but it would be up to the individual to pay the difference.

Selover added that drivers will not take drivers bar to bar, “its a safe ride home,” she said.”For the most part the drivers stay steady for the night,” said Selover. “However I would like to see the program utilized more.”
