Although a newcomer to the rural town of Maxwell, Kristi Hill is no stranger to Colusa County.
For the past two and a half years, Hill has called Maxwell home.
“I graduated from Fresno State in 2010 with a major in Ag Education and a minor in Animal Science. In November of 2014, I made the move from Wheatland,” said Hill.
Currently, Hill is employed as an Ag Teacher at Williams Unified School District. “I love the atmosphere and the kids’ willingness to learn,” said Hill.
Alongside teaching, Hill also dedicates her time as a coach for the girls volleyball, soccer, and softball teams. “I have a great group of girls within these three sports. Some play all three and some just one or two. All the athletes are a pleasure to work with,” Hill stated.
In her spare time, Hill attends livestock shows and jackpots across the country, sometimes as a spectator and sometimes as a participant.
“I enjoy showing cows and being able to share showmanship tips to my FFA students,” said Hill.
Hill’s favorite Colusa County event is the County Fair. “The fair brings the whole county together and this county is so supportive. It’s awesome to see everyone come together,” said Hill.
