Elda Ruth Gordon (1922 – 2017)

Elda Ruth Gordon passed into Glory on Monday, June 5, 2017. Born Elda Ruth Harris on May 15, 1922 in the high plains of  New Mexico.  Her parents were Starley Edmund “Edd” and Ruth Clara (Schramm) Harris. She had 3 sisters and two brothers. Her schooling was in forrest. Most of the students were from surrounding homesteads or farms. Her High School Graduation was in 1940.

Elda age 95 years was the last to survive of the dear family that lived in New Mexico.

She met George Alvin Gordon on Easter Sunday, 1942. After his Coast Guard service during WWII, they re-met. Just 15 days shy of 60 years of marriage George passed into eternity. Living was always on the “home place” with just a short time in San Francisco while George was finishing College. The Gordon home at Princeton celebrated 100 years of Gordon ownership last year, 2016.

Elda is survived by her four children: Mamie (Larry) Mossman of Salem, OR, Dale Gordon of Riverdale, CA, David Gordon of Princeton, CA, Clarice (Darrell) Roberson of Salem, OR. Five grandchildren and 7 Great Grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, June 8th from 5:00-8:00p.m. at the McNary-Moore Chapel 107 5th St. Colusa, CA.

Graveside services will be held at the Marvin Chapel Afton Cemetery on Friday, June 8th , at 11:00 am. 705 County Road Y Afton, CA 95920
