Dolores was born Dec. 30, 1929 in Blackwell, Okla. She was the third of eight children born to Gordon and Viva Stephens.
Dolores moved with her family to Maxwell in 1946 when she was a teenager, but lived many years in Las Vegas, Nev. after her marriage to Jack Perkins. Dolores was a model with the John Robert Powers agency in the early 1960s, and was a racing Quarter Horse breeder and owner, holding a Bay Meadows track record since 1977. She loved to dance and enjoyed traveling. She was a talented crafter and was a regular at area craft shows. To many, she was fondly known as “Auntie Ann.”
Dolores is survived by her son Donald Schragl Jr. of Silver Springs, Nev., four grandsons and many great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters Marjorie Cochran of Lodi and Frances Reusser of Willows; brothers David Stephens (Nell) of Chico; Ronald Stephens of Maxwell; James Stephens of Caldwell, Idaho; Dennis Stephens (Dora) of Williams, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sister Betty J. Palmer in 1989. Dolores lived in Maxwell for many years, but was a resident at Valley West Care Center in Williams at the time of her death. She will be interred in the Maxwell Cemetery.
