Life as I See it (06/21/2017)

Everyone is talking about the heat so I might as well also.

I’m not sure I’ll make it through the week. The highest prediction I have seen is for 114 degrees. That’s just wrong.

As I’ve said time and again; take one day at a time.

We’ll need to be ever diligent to make sure we stay hydrated. We need to make sure our pets have enough shade and water as well.

We here in Northern California have just come out of a winter of excessive rains, and now we will meet our next challenge.

For those of you who have not heard, I am closing my Colusa office. I’ll be gone by the end of the month. I will be working from home until the end of the year and then my plan is to retire.

Honestly I never thought I’d do that. If I am being truly honest I must say I am not retiring from all things.

I will no longer do public relations work once the end of  2017 rolls around, but I will continue to write.

I have several books I have started over the years, and I’m planning on making a full-fledged effort in finishing them.  Of course I plan to continue freelance writing and I will continue to write this column.

I’ve spent most of the morning unpacking and reorganizing my things at my home office so that when I make the final move I’ll be ready to start right to work and not skip a beat.

We spent most of the weekend at the lake, and it was one of the best we’ve had. We took the boat out for a morning cruise, made some great food and then closed off the night on Saturday by listening to a good band. We don’t have live music every weekend at the campground, but it is fun when we do.

I spent a lot of time sitting outdoors in my lounge chair and I while I was doing that, I thought a lot about the changes going on in my life. I have to say that I am grateful for every day of my life. I am grateful for the place that God has chosen for me, and I am grateful for the peace of being able to enjoy. I am grateful that Tom and I met each other.

I never thought that I would marry again. I never thought that I would retire.

I am an walking example of the fact that we each have a path to follow, and that there is a plan for each of us.

I’m hoping as I settle into this new pace of life that I will be able to follow a few dreams.

As I said; I want to write. Also I want to increase my public speaking bookings. I’ve found over the last few years that speaking and encouraging is a gift that I want to share.

For a woman who was once panicked over ready a part of program at a women’s meeting to long for that opportunity now, thats a big deal.

God gives us our gifts, and he gives us our times to use it. I’ve seen my time for certain parts of my life. I can’t wait to see what comes next.

Life is good today.
