Pumpkin Village coloring contest announced

The heat index may still be sizzling, but Fall is right around the corner. Kicking off its upcoming Pumpkin Village, the Colusa County Fairgrounds announces its coloring contest.

“This is a great opportunity for children to have fun and win great prizes,” said Jonathan Howard, CEO of the Colusa County Fairgrounds.

Open to children aged 4 to 12, the coloring contest will be judged solely on creativity within three age groups, 4-6, 7-9, and 10-12.

The ‘Spookly the Square Pumpkin,’ coloring pages can be downloaded from the fairground’s website or can be picked up at the Colusa County Arts Council, 151 5th Street in Colusa.

“The art’s council will announce special coloring nights when children and their parents are invited to create their masterpieces,” said Howard.

There is no entry fee for the contest and one winner from each age group will receive $25 in tickets to be used at Pumpkin Village, Oct. 21, 22, 28 and 29. Winners will be notified by phone or email and will be displayed on the fairground’s website, at the fair office and featured in the Pioneer Review.

All entries must be received by the Colusa County Fair Office, 1303 10th Street, Colusa, in person or by mail, no later than 5 PM on Friday, Oct. 13.

Remember to write your child’s name, age, parent or guardians mailing address, a telephone number and email on the back of the entry.
