Fire scare at Colusa business

A long time Colusa pharmacy was forced to evacuate last Wednesday after smoke filled the building.

The Colusa Fire Department was dispatched to Davison Drug & Stationery at about 11:20 AM where fire crews found smoke inside the building but no visible flames.

According to scanner traffic, crews searched for nearly a half hour before finding the source, a faulty light fixture.

At 12:36 PM, fire crews were released from the scene with minimal damage done. The beloved pharmacy reopened its doors just a few hours after.
