Nadine Keene 1928-2017

Nadine Keene passed away on November 29, 2017 at Enloe Hospital in Chico surrounded by her loving family. Nadine was born at her family home on September 12, 1928, to Darwin and Adeline Picknell.

She is survived by her four daughters Diane Demarest (Don), Kathie Whitesell (David), Penny Fiedler, Vicki McIntyre (Kenny); grandchildren Toby Reading (Kiffin), Nick Reading (Brooke), Tricia Livermore (Dean), Angie Smith (Brandon), and Anthony Perez (Sarah); and great-grandchildren Scott Phillips, Rylee and Allie Reading, Todd, Max, and Mia Reading, Zack Livermore, Jacob and Araya Perez, Emily Haley, and Jade Smith; great-great-granddaughter Bella Phillips; sister Nelda Dillman; and numerous nephews, nieces and loving friends.

A graduate of Arbuckle High School, she worked many jobs. She worked at Glenn General Hospital, Valley Wide Chemical and first and foremost a wife, mother, and homemaker to her family.

She was proceeded in death by her husband Warren, sister Doris Marshall, brother Bruce Girdner, and Lee Smith; grandson Jeff Philips.

She was an avid seamstress making many of her daughter’s clothes in their early years. She had a love for the Butte Meadows cabin and knack for fly fishing. She will be missed by all that knew her quick wit and laugh. If you would talk about the S.F. Giants, 49ers, or Jeff Gordan, she knew it all!
