Bergson in as Williams’ mayor, Jauregui as vice-mayor

Forget “Mr. Mayor” – you can call him “Charles in Charge.”

Those were some of the first words spoken – jokingly – by Williams City Councilman Charles Bergson after being tapped as the city’s mayor for 2018 during last week’s city council meeting. Bergson was nominated for the position by Councilman John Troughton.

Bergson has served on the city council since being elected in 2014, and this year will be his first stint as mayor. Prior to being elected, he had served as Williams’ city administrator.
Santos Jauregui, who was elected to the council alongside Bergson in 2014, will serve as vice-mayor. He was nominated by Bergson. ■
