Colusa police asking for help identifying Country Stop burglar

The Colusa Police Department is seeking help in identifying the person who burglarized Country Stop in Colusa and stole an unknown quantity of cigarettes on Thursday night.

At about 12:27 Am, Colusa Police officers responded to Country Stop for a commercial alarm activation. When they arrived at the business, they discovered that someone had broken the glass door to gain entry. The suspect was gone when officers arrived. Officers reviewed video from security cameras, and were able to get pictures and video of the suspect.

Shared on the department’s social media account, the video shows what appears to be a young male suspect with dark hair breaking through the door and entering the building at approximately 12:21 AM, then making his way behind the counter. He is in the business for about 30 seconds before exiting the building with the stolen merchandise.

Colusa Police Sgt. Eldon Tamez said on Tuesday that the department had followed up on a couple of leads, but that they had not yet identified the suspect seen in the photo and video. He added that the department is still seeking assistance from the public in identifying the suspect.

“We want to get this out there,” Tamez said.

If anyone is able to identify the suspect, they are being asked to contact Officer Lee at the Colusa Police Department: 530.458.7777
