Maxwell to host Spring Training event

The Maxwell High School Baseball team will host its “Spring Training North: Burgers and Baseball” event on Saturday, April 7.

Starting at 9:30 AM, the Maxwell High School players and coaches will run camp attendees through a practice similar to major league practice. The group encourages county-wide participation and will be accepting donations only. The camp is open to boys and girls aged kindergarten through eighth grade.

At 12 PM, community members will have the opportunity to support their favorite Maxwell baseball player at the hit-a-thon,by pledging an amount-per-foot for the players’ hits. Players will have three chances to hit the ball as far as they can. A pledge form can be obtained any player or coach.

At 1 PM, Maxwell High School alumni will battle it out in a seven-inning showdown, umpired by Johny Wells. The registration fee is $20 per player.

The snack bar will be available all day.

To register for the camp or alumni game, contact Coach Tyler Wells (530) 966-8103 or email tyler@depuewhse.com or contact any Maxwell Baseball team member. ■
