Colusa Golf and Country Club will host its second big-screen music festival this Saturday night, June 30.
The “Boot Kickin’ Summer Fest” is a Country Western version of the club’s first successful fundraiser featuring rock n’ roll music, which was held earlier this year.
“We have a giant screen that fills up an entire wall and we will be streaming video concerts and music videos from a variety of current country artists, all the way back to Patsy Cline,” said D’Ann Bressler. “It is really like being at a live concert.”
The “Boot Kickin’ Summer Fest,” will be a night of food, dancing, and music. Doors open at 7 PM at Colusa Golf and County Club, located at 2224 Highway 20, with music from 8-11 PM. Tickets are $25 per person, and you must be 21 or older to attend.
Like the first music festival, all proceeds from the event will go into roof restoration fund, to replace the existing roof at the club, said organizer D’Ann Bressler.
Bressler said Ken English got the idea for the fundraisers from an event he attended in which music was streamed on the bus.
“Everyone enjoyed it so much, they didn’t want to get off the bus,” Bressler said.
A similar thing happened at the Country Club’s first music festival, which featured rock n’ roll of the 70s and 80s.
“People just didn’t want it to be over,” she said. “It is amazing. We have a great sound system, and it really is a lot of fun.”
Pulled pork sliders and other snack food will be provided, and a no-host bar will be open for drinks at a slightly discounted cost, which helps make such a great event affordable, Bressler said.
Tickets can be purchased in advance at the County Club, Messick Ace Hardware, 729 Market St., or at the door.
