It’s Your Colusa County: Meghan Miller

Name: Meghan Miller

Age: 36

City of residence: Williams

Occupation: Paraeducator / Teacher in training.

Family: Husband Dan, children Zach and Tanner, and daughter Hailie.

Describe yourself in three words: Optimistic, independent, and outgoing.

What kind of pets do you have? I have two bull dogs, a crazy cat, a gazillion fish, and a guinea pig named nugget.

What do you most enjoy about your job? Being part of the foundation the kids are basing their education on and seeing them achieve a goal or have an ‘ah-ha’ moment when something finally clicks.

What is your dream job? A personal shopper, a teacher, or a personal assistant to someone famous.

What was your first job? I was a bagger at Safeway.

What’s something about yourself that your friends might not know: Even though I am very social, solitude is often my happy place.

Who do you most admire? My mom. She taught me to be a strong and independent woman. I am, who I am, because of her.

What is your favorite book or movie? She sees the good in all situations.

What is your favorite childhood memory? Family camping trips.

What’s your favorite thing to do on a rainy day? Curl up in bed and watch movies.

What’s something you can’t live without? Time for myself.

What do you like most about Colusa County? The country like feel without the crazy hustle and bustle of the bigger cities.

What would you like to change about Colusa County? We need more major shopping: a Costco, or Safeway. The prices are too high around here.

If you could write a biography about someone local, who would it be and why? My son Zach: He has Tourette Syndrome and I would like to spread awareness and debunk some misconceptions about it.
