Richard Allen Aubrey died peacefully after a lengthy fight with Alzheimer’s on July 22, 2018 at Valley West Care Center. Rich was born in Marysville on December 20, 1945 to Albert and Ruth Aubrey. He was the fourth generation, born in Yuba County on both of his parents’ side of the family. Rich was a Vietnam Veteran who served two tours in the U. S. Navy Seabees. He married Glenda, the love of his life, on June 17, 1972. While living in Bakersfield, their family grew with the births of their daughters Cindy and Becky. Rich and his young family moved back to northern California, and settled in Colusa in 1979. After working for the Bureau of Reclamation, Rich hired on with the City of Yuba City in 1988. Rich retired as the Senior Construction Inspector for the Public Works/Engineering Department for the City of Yuba City in 2009. He was preceded in death by both of his parents. Rich is survived by his wife Glenda Aubrey of Colusa, brother Randy Aubrey (Val) of Susanville, California, daughters Cindy Cerney (Mike) and Becky Frias (Jesse) both of Colusa. Rich had four wonderful grandchildren: Raymond and Makayla Frias, and Emily and Jacob Cerney. Per Rich’s request there will not be a service. Donations may be made to the Colusa Redhawks Athletic Foundation, or the Alzheimer’s Association.
