John Brent Arnold (1953-2018)

On Saturday, September 1, 2018 John Brent Arnold passed away in Billings, Montana due to complications following surgery. John was born May 22, 1953 in Woodland, California to parents Harry Franklin Arnold and Esther June (Dunlap) Arnold.

John graduated from Colusa High School in 1971, attended Reedley College, Fresno State University, and graduated from Chico State University with a degree in Ag Science.

He married Kathy Lambirth and they had two sons, Brent (Sarah) and Cody (Erin) Arnold.

He married again to Patti (Davis) Cardosa, and was joined by his step son Bradley (Dee Dee) Cardosa and then his youngest son, Blake (Samantha) Arnold.

Blake and John were especially close over the past few years and it was Blake that helped John reach his dream of moving to Montana in 2017.

John was a volunteer member of the Sacramento River (Colusa Rural) Fire Department for many years and also served as a Commissioner for the group. He was very proud of the fact that he was the second generation serving in both of these capacities as his father had before him.

John was a past Worshipful Master and long time Brother in Colusa Masonic Lodge #240 F&AM.

John loved his grandchildren, music of all kinds, horses, hunting, fast cars and history. He also enjoyed attending church, handling livestock, and spending time in the foothills of Colusa County. At the top of the list was his love of talking with friends, or just going for a drive.

John is preceded in death by his father, mother, and his sister Deborah Arnold. He is survived by his sons, their wives and his grandchildren; Audrey Arnold, Rylee and Tristan Arnold, Paisley and Savannah Arnold, Jackson Cardosa, and his sister Arlene Arnold.

Funeral services will be held in at the Maxwell Baptist Church in Maxwell, California on Saturday, September 29, at 11:00 AM. Masonic services will be graveside in
Colusa at 3:00 PM, where he will be laid to rest with many generations of his family that have preceded him in Colusa’s history.
