Kelsyville man killed in Highway 16 collision

The California Highway Patrol said a 57 year old Kelseyville man was killed in a solo-vehicle collision on Tuesday, Sept. 11.

Officers said, the driver, identified as George Thompson, was driving a was driving a 1993 Toyota Corola westbound on Highway 16 just east of Highway 20 when for unknown reasons allowed his vehicle to travel off the road way and colliding into a dirt embankment. The impact caused fatal injuries to Thompson.

The westbound lane of Highway 16 was shutdown for approximately two hours while CHP Officers conducted an investigation.

According to the California Highway Patrol there was no apparent indication that alcohol or distracted driving were a factor in the Collision. Results pending from the Colusa County Coroners Office.

There were no other vehicles involved in this collision.
