Yuba City man arrested on drug, and stolen property charges

After receiving a notice to be on the lookout for a black Toyota Prius from Colusa County Sheriff’s Office dispatchers on Saturday, the occupants of which were believed to have guns and drugs, Colusa Police Officer David Jackson spotted a vehicle matching the description in the Tri Counties Bank parking lot at about 10:17 PM that night.

Officers from the Colusa Police Department made contact with the male occupants of the vehicle, identified by the Colusa Police department as George Michael Webb, 54, of Yuba City, and Thomas Daniel Visage, 59, of Colusa.

During their investigation, officers found a handgun stolen earlier in the day out of Sutter County, a switchblade knife, $200 in cash obtained from cashing fraudulent checks, false IDs, and drug paraphernalia (a suspected methamphetamine pipe), the department said.

Webb was booked into the Colusa County Jail on suspicion of receiving known stolen property and possession of drug paraphernalia. His bail was set at $5,000. Visage was released pending further investigation, the department said.

“There is further investigation to see if he was connected to the stolen property and fraudulent checks,” Lt. Eldon Tamez said on Tuesday morning. ■
