Williams Unified School District – Public Notice of Provisional Appointment

Williams Unified School District
PUBLIC NOTICE OF PROVISIONAL APPOINTMENT

(Education Code §5092)

On August 28, 2018, the Colusa County Elections department noticed the Williams Unified School District that there was an insufficient number of candidates nominated for election to the District’s Board of Trustees for the November 6, 2018 election.  Accordingly, no election will be held this November and there will be one vacant position on the District’s Board of Education. The Board of Trustees voted at a Special Meeting held on September 25, 2018 to make a provisional appointment of a qualified person to fill the vacant seat.

The Governing Board provisionally appointed Ana Belen Leos-Vera to fill this vacancy at a special Board meeting held on October 23, 2018.  Unless a petition calling for a special election, containing a sufficient number of signatures, is filed in the Office of the Colusa County Superintendent of Schools within 30 days of the date of the provisional appointment, it shall become an effective appointment.
