Taking the stress and guesswork out of holiday shopping, the Colusa County Fairgrounds will transform into a shoppers’ emporium this weekend with its annual craft and gift show.
The Colusa Holiday Craft Faire will be held on Saturday, Nov. 17, and Sunday, Nov. 18, from 9 AM to 4 PM.
“We’ll have lots of vendors available, from homemade crafts to a variety of unique gifts,” said Araceli Plaza.
The two-day event will feature homemade craft vendors of jams and jellies, leather and woodworking, sewn and yarn goods, as well as pottery, jewelry, and candles, bath and body products, sauces, and rubs.
Many local favorite vendors will be returning, and new vendors will be making an appearance.
“It’s going to be a great event. Unique gifts for holiday shopping, a raffle, Santa, and much more,” said Janice Romano, Craft Faire Committee Member.
Something for the kids, entertainment, and Santa?
Who’s naughty? Who’s nice? Better watch out, because Santa Claus will be making an appearance during the weekend.
“Santa will be back, and he’ll be available for photos,” said Plaza. “Parents are encouraged to bring their cameras.”
In addition to shopping and photos with Santa, the Colusa Craft Faire will feature a performance by Stardust Dance on Sunday morning,
“We are slated for 10:30 AM,” said Jyl Torrens of Stardust Dance Studio. “We will be reciting our Christmas recital dance called ‘Reindeer Games.’”
Torrens added that the dance competition team will perform their Disneyland parade routine through the fairgrounds to get ready for their debut on Main Street, USA, on Sat. Dec. 8.
Adding a little fun to the holiday spirit at the Craft Faire, Rudolph’s Barrel Ride will return with rides for the kids.
“The kids enjoyed Rudolph’s Barrel Ride, and we’re excited to bring it back,” said Plaza.
grab some grub
With all the holiday shopping, you’re bound to get hungry, and the Colusa Craft Faire will have some options for you.
Local food establishment Tacos El Amigo will be serving a variety of delicious menu items in Festival Hall. Outside, Refresh Express will brew up specialty coffee drinks, and Jax Kettle Corn will serve hot-and-fresh kettle corn.

Craft Fair Shoppers and visitors will have the opportunity to win a prize donated by the vendors of the show.
“Each vendor has contributed an item from their booths the raffle,” said Plaza. “We’ll have a lot of great items.”
Tickets can be purchased for $1 in Festival Hall at the Craft Show Committee Information Booth.
Following the Ugly Sweater contest, raffle winners will be announced.
Ugly Sweater Contest
We all have that ugly holiday sweater deep in our closet that we’re afraid to show off. Or you’ve gone wild with hot-glue, pipe cleaners, and glitter one Christmas night and you’re proud of your crafty creation. Either way, there is an Ugly Christmas Sweater Contest just for you.
Held on Sunday at 1 PM, you can be judged on your outlandish sweater getup.
There is no cost to enter, and the contest is open to children aged newborn to 12, and those aged 13 and older.
