Boot Drive in Williams for Camp Fire victims

The Williams Fire Department is holding a boot drive fundraiser for those affected by the Camp Fire in Butte County. All of the county’s fire departments have been invited to participate.

The boot drive will take place tomorrow, Wednesday, Nov. 21, from 10 AM to 2 PM – rain or shine. Donations will be taken on either side of the Interstate 5 overpass: at the corners of E Street and Vann Street, and E Street and Fourth Street. 100 percent of the proceeds from the boot drive would go to families who had been affected by the Camp Fire.

“We came up with this last week,” said Williams firefighter and Boot Drive co-chair Taylor Wright. “We just voted at our Association meeting last night to put it out to as many people as we can in the community to come help. We’re planning on being out there from 10 AM to 2 PM, but if we get enough people, and people just keep coming, we’re just going to go all day.”
