Colusa takes win against Lindhurst and Marysville

With home-court advantage, The Red Hawks crept past the Lindhurst, Blazers last Thursday, with a final score of 30-29. 

“We didn’t shoot well but hung on for the win,” said Redhawks Coach Darren Townzen. 

Chaena Laux snagged 2 offensive rebounds on the Redhawks last possession, scoring on the second giving the Redhawks a one-point lead.  Annie Lay’s back to back blocks on the Blazers last possession secured the win for Colusa bringing their record to 7-8 on the season.

Carly Lay lead the Red Hawks with thirteen points and rebounds. Edith Moreno contributed six points and rebounds to the Red Hawks win, and Laux finished with three points and six rebounds.

Colusa claimed a second win during winter break with a 46-30 final score over Marysville on Friday. Tuesday, the Redhawks traveled to Winters and will end the weeks play with back to back county games. Away game against the Wiliams Yellowjackets, tonight at 7 PM and hosting the Pierce Bears, Thursday at 7 PM. ■
