Fairgrounds seeks contestants for artwork contest

Seeking artwork for the cover of its annual premium book, the Colusa County Fairgrounds has begun accepting entries for the 2019 Colusa County Fair Premium Book Cover contest. 

“We welcome anyone to enter the contest,” said Colusa County Fair CEO, Laura Ford, “We welcome entries from professionals or amateurs.”

The contest is open to all ages with the winner receiving two fair admission tickets and a $50 cash prize. 

Entries must include the 2019 Colusa County Fair theme: “80 Years of American Flare at the Colusa County Fair”. The Artwork must be flat/smooth (copy machine scan-able), with a maximum sheet size 8” x 10” and a minimum size of 4” x 6”. All Artwork must be original 

Entries must be submitted no later than 5 PM on Friday, Feb. 15. The winner will be announced no later than Mar. 1.

To enter, submit your artwork in person at the Colusa Fairgrounds Office, 1301 Hwy 20/10th St. in Colusa, or email sheryl@colusacountyfair.com.

All artwork becomes property of the Colusa Fairgrounds with unlimited rights to use the winning artwork for marketing the Colusa County Fair. Entries may be returned upon request. 

Last year Guiselle Melchor, a Colusa High School Art student, was selected by the Colusa Fair board for best representing the 2018 Fair theme “H20 Makes Things Grow.”
