Pierce and Williams end at a tie

Williams Lady Jackets hosted the Pierce Bears last Tuesday night with a 7-7 tie as the final outcome.

The Lady Jackets erupted from the line finding the back of Pierce’s net, at the 2 minute mark,  as  Nayeli Contreras kicked in the first score of the game, assisted by Paola Orduno. The Lady Bears quickly made their presence on the field known,  with two back to back goals by Sarah Vann, assisted by Montserrat Ambriz. Possession remained at the feet of the Lady Bears for the next 6 minutes,resulting in Vanns third goal, assisted by Ambriz for 3-1 score. Lady Jackets quickly  answered back  with a shot and goal by Carmen Contreras, lessoning the score by one, 3-2.

A short shot from Vann at the 26 minute mark gave Pierce an even larger advantage, 4-2,but only for 3 minutes as Vanessa Sanchez, for Williams, snuck past the Pierce defense for an unassisted goal at the 32 minute mark, 4-3 score. First half play ended with a 4-6 score, Pierce’s lead.

Second half ensued with adjustments from the Lady Jackets on the field, resulting in three goals between the 45 and 58 minute mark from solo shots by Nayeli Contreras, Carmen Contreras and Gabby Lopez for a Williams lead 7-6. Pierce’s Priscilla Gonzalez found the back of the Wililams net right before game time ran out, securing a 7-7 tie for the night. ■
