Gearing up for April Fools, the Colusa Rural Firefighters plan on hosting their annual Comedy Night on Saturday, March 23, at the Colusa County Fairgrounds.
The event gets underway at 5 PM.
On the menu is tri-tip, chicken, rice, salad, and bread. Rocco’s will be preparing the meat for the event.
Tickets are $35, which buys a evening of entertainment, dinner, and a chance at a door prize.
Colusa Rural Firefighter Heath Krug explained that ticket sales tend to be directly correlated to the entertainment, and he anticipates that Jeff Garcia will help to usher in a good turnout. Garcia will be join professional comics Pinche Peter and Chris Simpson.
Patrons can leave feeling good: from the food, the laughter, and also knowing that every dollar earned will be used for a good cause.
“All the money we raise, the Colusa Rural Firefighters put back into the community,” Krug said. “We have a scholarship fund and then helping others in need. We do a lot of other donations throughout the year. We support other organizations. The money we raise, it goes back into the community, helping in times of need.”
For $20, attendees can purchase a bottomless glass of all-you-can-drink beer. T-shirts will also be available for purchase to help raise funds in an effort to restore an old fire truck.
The event includes opportunities to win plenty of raffle items and a door prize. There will also be a game of “Pick of the Litter” where the winner will have first pick from the raffle items.
Tickets can be purchased at the Country Stop, Reading Oil, Superior Tire. If not sold out, tickets may be available at the door. According to Krug, ticket sales are going good. ■
