Students at Our Lady of Lourdes School showed their parents and others just what they have learned spiritually, academically, socially, and physically while at school.
The Open House at the private Catholic School on March 26 also offered prospective families the opportunity to visit the campus to learn more about the faculty and staff, academic programs, and student life.
Our Lady of Lourdes School is an educational ministry of the Catholic Community in Colusa County. The school promotes a safe and caring environment emphasizing Catholic Christian principles, school officials said.
The Open House also included the annual Science Fair, where the public had the opportunity to view individual projects set up in St. Bernadette’s Hall. Science projects included experiments on such things as filling balloons with the gas from a soda, testing which toothpaste whitens the best, and which brands of popcorn pop the best. Students also provided detailed data and analysis on food safety, health, and nutrition.
Our Lady of Lourdes School, founded in 1891, provides private education for students pre-kindergarten through eighth grade. ■
